Privacy policy
Hoop Rocket
Hoop Rocket is made by Gigawatt Games, the games label of Clocktower Development LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the game collects and why.
What we collect
World leaderboard
If posting to the World board is on (it is by default, and you can turn it off), your score is sent with the nickname you chose, the distance and hoops in that run, the world you reached, and the time. Nicknames are filtered for bad language and can only use letters, numbers, and spaces.
Anonymous sign-in
The game signs in with an anonymous ID so leaderboard entries can be tied to your device. It isn't linked to your name, email, or any account.
Gameplay stats
Events like starting and finishing a run, reaching a new world, leveling up, sharing a score card, and unlocking a skin, with the numbers from that event. We use these to balance the game. Advertising features are switched off: no advertising ID is collected, and the data isn't used for ads or personalization.
Crash reports
If the game crashes, a technical report is sent so we can fix it: device model, OS version, and what the code was doing. No name or nickname is attached.
What stays on your device
This is saved on your phone or tablet and never sent to us:
- Progress, coins, unlocked skins, and settings
- The nicknames you've used
Sharing
Score card pictures go through your device's share sheet. We only record that a card was shared, never the picture.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information or share it with advertisers. We use these service providers to run the game, and they only process data on our behalf:
- Google Firebase (anonymous sign-in, Firestore database, Analytics, Crashlytics)
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Children
Hoop Rocket has no ads and nothing to buy with real money. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 beyond what's described above. If you're a parent and want your child's data removed, use Delete my World scores on the World tab of the High Scores screen, as described below.
Keeping and deleting data
You can delete your World scores in the game at any time: open High Scores, go to the World tab, tap Delete my World scores, and confirm. That permanently removes every score and nickname this device has posted to the World board, along with the anonymous ID it used. Entries are tied to that anonymous ID, not to an account, so the button can only remove scores posted from the game as it's installed now; scores posted from another device, or before the game was reinstalled, can't be linked back to you. Otherwise, we keep World entries for as long as the game is running. Everything else (progress, settings) stays on your device, and deleting the app removes it. Gameplay stats and crash reports aren't tied to your nickname or ID in a way that lets us find them for one player; Google keeps them for a limited time and then deletes them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
